Temporary Coded Pipe Welder

Oil & Gas Systems is seeking to employ two experienced, time served Pipe Welders to join their production team in Gorseinon. The successful applicants will be required for a period of 6 months and thereafter on a month by month basis if an extension is requiredWe are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.

We are preferably looking for candidates who live locally within a 25 mile radius of Swansea. For candidates living outside a 45 mile radius of the factory, a fuel allowance is available. Candidates living more than 50 miles from the factory accommodation and food allowance is available.

Minimum Candidate Requirements

As a minimum, candidates should have qualifications and previous experience of working within a manufacturing/engineering environment.

Preferred Candidate Requirements

  • Fully skilled in the field of Pipe Welding
  • Ability to work with Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Duplex Stainless Steel
  • Experience of working with a variety of sizes and schedules from small bore – ½” NB to 24” NB
  • Ability to work to high tolerance quality specifications to meet Radiography requirements
  • Should have a track record of less than 3% failure rate
  • Proven experience and track record in TIG, MMA, MAG, FCAW and SAW welding
  • Should be able to work to schedules with the minimum supervision
  • Must have been previously coded to ASME/BS EN, there will be completion of   coding to meet company standards
  • Must be able to weld positionally
  • Commitment to working with Oil & Gas
  • A flexible approach to all duties and working hours to achieve completion of contracts outside of normal scope of work

Reporting to -  Workshop Supervisor

Salary - £15.10 per hour

Oil and Gas Systems Ltd is seeking to employ a Semi-Skilled Labourer to work within our manufacturing facility. Candidates should flexible and self-motivated. You should have the ability to work to the high quality and safety standards set by our company.

The successful applicant will be required to start ASAP for a period of 3 months and thereafter on a month by month basis.

We are ideally looking for candidates who live locally within a 25 mile radius of Swansea.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a manufacturing/Engineering environment using hand tools, electrical tools, small and large band saws, pipe bevelling machines and drills.

Preferred Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience within the industry or within a similar environment is essential
  • Experience with flange assembly and mechanical fitting desirable
  • The candidate must be able to follow instructions in line with supervisor and/or tradesman’s requirements
  • Be self-motivated and organised
  • Have an understanding of Health & Safety
  • Carry out tasks efficiently and to a high standard
  • Assist manufacturing personnel in their daily tasks
  • Have experience of working with electrical hand tools and general fabrication machinery
  • Good time keeping and work ethic
  • Forklift experience would be advantageous

Piping Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Piping Design Engineer - this is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to become involved in the design of our bespoke engineered packages.

Main duties & responsibilities include:

  • Laying out pipe routing based on process drawings (e.g. P&ID’s), pipe specifications and project requirements (e.g. space restrictions, process requirements & maintenance access).
  • Generating conceptual 3D Models at Enquiry / Proposal stage and detailed 3D Models at Project stage.
  • Performing pipe stress analysis using Caesar II software and producing detailed pipe stress reports
  • Creating 2D CAD drawings such as Piping Isometrics, fabrication drawings & GA’s for manufacture
  • Producing BOMs for purchasing
  • Working closely with Project Managers and Discipline Engineers to ensure safe & economical design
  • Reviewing & interpreting customer specifications and national / international codes & standards
  • Resolving technical queries and ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
  • Participating in key meetings such as clarifications, handovers, design reviews & closeout
  • Providing input into project planning regarding budget and schedule
  • Carrying out customer-facing activities such as meetings, site visits & presentations
  • Reviewing Supplier drawings for integration into the package
  • Performing Pipe Support Calculations (e.g. Trunnions & Shoes)
  • Carrying out preliminary structural design
  • Overseeing Sub-Contracted Mechanical Design
  • Managing Junior CAD staff
  • Checking drawings & documents where necessary

Essential Requirements:

  • Proficient in CAD software (2D AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Caesar II & Navisworks)
  • Knowledge of current legislation / relevant standards & piping codes, such as ASME B31.3 & British Standards.
  • Previous experience in designing pipework / assemblies for bespoke engineering packages (preferably oil & gas, but others will be considered).
  • Excellent communication, problem solving & interpersonal skills.
  • Degree or HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Advance Steel & Robot Structure.
  • Working toward professional registration.

This is mainly an office-based role, although some travel to our workshop in South Wales may be required from time to time.

We are ideally looking for candidates who live within a 25 mile radius of Swansea.

Minimum Candidate Requirements:

As a minimum, candidates should have qualifications and previous experience of working within a manufacturing/engineering stores environment. Full driving license, Current forklift and overhead crane operation certificates and experience.

Preferred Candidate Requirements

Ability to load and unload lorries

Goods Inwards (material checking, marking contract & cast numbers and certificates)

Control & monitor of all contract and consumable stock items

Identify all contract and consumable items

Record all consumables and gas issued

Monitor and control consumable spend budget.

Purchase consumables and ensure stock levels are maintained.

Arrange or carryout Deliveries and collections, both in and out of working hours.

Maintain and clean storage areas.

Control/Monitor and reorder forklift fuel.

Kit contract materials

Issue contract materials including movement to production workstations

Ensue suitable storage and containment and control for materials.

Coordinate all collections & shipments

Preservation of equipment for shipping

Pack items (varies from small parcels to large wooden cases requiring cutting & fixing timbers).

Industrial packing to include shrink wrapping and crating of large items.

Coordinate and supervise external packers and internal packing assistance

Coordinate weighing (small items and skid packages)

Welding rod purchase/issue/control

Welding gas purchase/deliveries/control.

Heating gas purchase/ deliveries/control.

Vehicle checks, cleaning (forklifts and truck).

Cut plywood discs for flange protection, if required.

Arrange and record steel scrap disposal.

Arrange and record wood waste disposal.

Arrange and record general waste disposal.

Waste compacting and waste baler checks.

When not busy or if required provided hands on support to the production supervisor.
