Coded Pipe Welder

Oil & Gas Systems is seeking to employ two experienced, time served Pipe Welders to join their production team in Gorseinon.

We are ideally looking for candidates who live locally within a 20 mile radius of Swansea. For candidates living outside a 45 mile radius of the factory, a fuel allowance is available. Candidates living more than 50 miles from the factory accommodation and food allowance is available.

Minimum Candidate Requirements

As a minimum, candidates should have qualifications and previous experience of working within a manufacturing/engineering environment.

Preferred Candidate Requirements

  • Fully skilled in the field of Pipe Welding
  • Ability to work with Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Duplex Stainless Steel
  • Experience of working with a variety of sizes and schedules from small bore – ½” NB to 24” NB
  • Ability to work to high tolerance quality specifications to meet Radiography requirements
  • Should have a track record of less than 3% failure rate
  • Proven experience and track record in TIG, MMA, MAG, FCAW and SAW welding
  • Should be able to work to schedules with the minimum supervision
  • Must have been previously coded to ASME/BS EN, there will be completion of   coding to meet company standards
  • Must be able to weld positionally
  • Commitment to working with Oil & Gas
  • A flexible approach to all duties and working hours to achieve completion of contracts outside of normal scope of work

Metering Systems Proposals Engineer

The Proposals Engineer will be responsible for all enquiries related to Metering Systems for Natural Gas, Crude Oil & Refined Petroleum Products, including development of scope and estimating costs and technical communication with potential customers.

The successful candidate will be co-ordinating various aspects of the metering system engineering, including design, planning and development, and will be preparing cost estimates for the company’s packages.  This will involve developing system designs using in-house tools and developing P&ID and GA drawings with others.

The Proposals Engineer will be responsible in the development of design, materials handling, manpower requirements, cost analysis and other areas, as appropriate. The Proposals Engineer will produce technical and commercial proposals for conceptual, budget and firm opportunities.

This will include:

  • Providing engineering support and technical solutions.
  • Review and interpretation of specifications, standards and regulations, and project specifications & requirements.
  • Obtaining quotations from suppliers and reviewing quotations and developing good working relationships with suppliers’ technical and commercial teams.
  • Obtaining technical input from internal discipline engineers to ensure our bids meet clients’ specifications and standards.

The role will mean interfacing and developing relationships with clients and their contractors during the bid development stages.  Some attendance at Bid Clarification and Project Kick-off Meetings may also be required from time to time.  

Essential:

  • An Engineering degree such as Process/Chemical/Mechanical/Instrumentation.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, in putting mechanical designs together.
  • Previous experience of putting together cost estimates for mechanical and process packages.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a good standard of both written and spoken English.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.

Desirable:

  • Oil & Gas industry experience.
  • Experience of working within the Offshore market.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PROJECT would be advantageous.
  • Recent graduates would ideally have had a year out in industry as part of their course.

IT Manager

This role will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks at our Ely office and supporting our workshop in Swansea. This will include installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems, either over the phone, via remote access or in person.

• Staff – Manage, support, motivate and develop the IT Support Technician to meet the Group requirements, including objective setting, team building, performance appraisals, discipline, morale, recruitment, and training requirements.

• Strategy & Operational Policies & Procedures – Aligned with the business requirements of the Group, define, develop, and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures to cover all aspects of the IT Service, including those for infrastructure, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing etc.

• Business Projects – Form, build and maintain relationships with internal business managers within the Group to understand their requirements. Offer advice and ensure any IT related tasks within their Business Projects are also completed within specification, to satisfactory quality, on time and within budget.

• Security – Manage and monitor perimeter defences (email gateways, firewalls, remote access gateways, wireless access points, door access), back office (servers, core network switches) and endpoints (desktops, laptops, mobile phones, workgroup switches). Make recommendations for improving security.

• Purchasing – Authorised to make IT purchases up to pre-agreed limits or raise purchase requests in accordance with company procedures.

• External Suppliers – Form, build and maintain relationships with external IT Consultants and third-party suppliers, negotiate contracts to obtain and implement relevant technologies at competitive prices with a high level of service

We are seeking a CAD Operator & Project Support individual to join our project & engineering teams based in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

This is an exciting new opportunity for a junior person to develop their skills, and has the realistic scope for career progression within a well-established and internationally accredited systems integration company.

Main duties include:

  • Producing 2D AutoCAD drawings, sketches & layouts.
  • Producing drawings such as Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s)

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to take responsibility for vendor management and cost reduction activities relating to engineering projects therefore the ideal candidate would be from an engineering background.

Working as a member of a cross-functional team which includes engineering, finance, quality, project management and proposals, alongside other project support staff, the main duties include:

  • Negotiation of supplier Terms and Conditions to ensure best price, delivery, payment terms etc.
  • Building relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers and clients
  • Reporting on cost savings and providing analysis reports, as required by Management
  • Planning strategies for project-based purchasing activities with the aim of achieving cost reduction on bought-out items across all projects
  • Carrying out supplier performance reviews and reporting on any issues
  • Setting up systems and documentation, and maintaining accurate records
  • Line management to expediting & administrative duties.

Candidates applying will have:

  • Commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills
  • The ability to forge strong working relationships with suppliers, clients and colleagues

Monitor and control consumable spend budget.

Arrange or carryout Deliveries and collections, both in and out of working hours.

Maintain and clean storage areas.

Control/Monitor and reorder forklift fuel.

Kit contract materials

Issue contract materials including movement to production workstations

Ensue suitable storage and containment and control for materials.

Coordinate all collections & shipments

Preservation of equipment for shipping

Pack items (varies from small parcels to large wooden cases requiring cutting & fixing timbers).

Industrial packing to include shrink wrapping and crating of large items.

Coordinate and supervise external packers and internal packing assistance
