Purchasing Assistant

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Assistant will carry out duties in accordance with Company Procedures, and provide administrative support to the Purchasing Team.

The main duties are:

  • Expediting of SAGE 200 Purchase Orders (via telephone, e-mail & MS Teams)
  • Expedite Suppliers for Order Acknowledgements, goods delivery, drawings and documents
  • Responsible for ensuring that expediting records are maintained and kept up to date
  • Generating SAGE 200 and online purchase orders
  • Maintaining expediting spreadsheets
  • Liaising with Project Managers, Product Managers & Engineers regarding delays to deliveries and documents
  • Assisting the Purchasing Manager where required with administrative tasks relating to purchasing, including setting up document systems, maintaining records & spreadsheets, collating information for reports.
  • Covering for Assistant Buyer and Document Control function during absences

Skills and experience required:

  • Competent in SAGE 200
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Good communicator
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
